🚢 **Baie Comeau**: The last self-unloading lake freighter in the Trillium class of Canada Steamship Lines (CSL). Built in China, she joined her sister ships Baie St. Paul, Thunder Bay, and Whitefish Bay in 2013.
🚢 **SS Alpena**: Once called the SS Leon Fraser, this lake freighter was built in 1942. She was transformed from an iron ore carrier to a cement carrier and renamed Alpena in 1990. As of 2024, she is owned by Andrie Transportation Group and Inland Lakes Management.
🚢 **Sundew**: This ship served the Coast Guard for 60 years before retiring in 2004. Now, she’s a privately owned museum ship docked in Duluth, near the Great Lakes Aquarium.
🚢 **M/V Walter J. McCarthy Jr.**: This 1000′ diesel-powered lake freighter is operated by the American Steamship Company. With a carrying capacity of 80,900 tons, she transports western coal from Superior, Wisconsin to power plants in Michigan.
